Role Overview
As a Banking & Partnerships Specialist, your core focus will be establishing and developing direct relationships with banks, acquirers, and financial institutions to support a high-growth iGaming business.
This is not a purely operational role. This is about building infrastructure - securing stable, scalable banking setups while coordinating onboarding and partnership processes effectively.
Responsibilities
Banking Relationship Development
Identify, approach, and establish relationships with banks, EMIs, and acquiring partners
Lead conversations from first contact through onboarding and go-live
Build a diversified banking network across regions
Partnership Strategy
Support the development of a banking and payments strategy
Evaluate new partners based on approval rates, stability, cost, and scalability
Reduce dependency on single providers (no single point of failure)
Onboarding & Setup
Drive onboarding processes with banks (KYB, compliance, documentation)
Coordinate internally with Legal, Compliance, and Payments teams
Ensure smooth integration into existing payment flows
Commercial Negotiation
Negotiate fees, terms, and conditions with banking partners
Push for better economics while maintaining long-term relationships
Market Expansion Support
Enable entry into new markets by securing local banking capabilities
Identify region-specific payment requirements and constraints
Risk & Stability
Anticipate and mitigate risks (account closures, processing disruptions)
Maintain backup options and contingency setups at all times
What We are Looking For
Proven experience in:
Banking partnerships / payments / fintech / iGaming
Or roles involving direct interaction with banks / acquirers
Experience independently sourcing or developing banking/payment partner relationships is considered a strong advantage
Strong understanding of:
High-risk merchant environments (iGaming, crypto, etc.)
KYB, onboarding processes, and compliance expectations
A track record of successfully opening banking relationships (this is key)
Commercial mindset - confident in negotiation and partner management
Comfortable operating in ambiguous, fast-moving environments
Comfortable both developing external banking/PSP relationships and managing the onboarding/documentation processes required to operationalize them

Approval rates improve due to better routing options
Fewer disruptions from account closures or provider issues
