QA Engineer

ROLE SUMMARY:
The QA Engineer will be responsible for ensuring the quality and reliability of software products across multiple projects and platforms. Reporting to the Head of QA Department, this individual will execute manual tests, create and maintain test documentation, and collaborate closely with development and project teams to identify and resolve issues.
The ideal candidate is detail-oriented and hands-on with strong knowledge of functional, regression, and cross-platform testing, technical documentation, risk analysis, and quality standards. Proactive in suggesting process improvements, researching new tools and approaches, and contributing to the overall success of the QA function.
Monthly Responsibilities:
- Developing and updating guidelines
- Collaborating with HR, People Partner, and QA Lead.
- Offering feedback to the QA Lead.
Weekly Responsibilities:
- Active participation in planning sessions.
- Research and analysis of emerging technologies and approaches, identifying innovative solutions for current or future projects.
- Preparation of technical documentation, including checklists and test cases.
- Handling atypical tasks (approximately one per week).
- Analysis of weekly planning outcomes and results.
Daily Responsibilities:
- Active participation in daily stand-up meetings with the team.
- Execution of manual tests, including functional, regression, and cross-platform testing.
- Manual and automated testing of web applications, ensuring functionality aligns with specifications.
- Reporting of identified issues and defects.
- Creation and maintenance of comprehensive test documentation.
- Providing support to the development team as needed.
- Development and upkeep of internal guidelines and instructions.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Write and maintain technical documentation.
- Initiate, plan, and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
- Ensure high-quality deliverables across all projects.
- Conduct risk analysis and management to mitigate potential issues.
- Continuously improve processes within the QA team.
- Define KPIs and strategic goals for the QA team.
- Mentor and coach QA team members, including training and onboarding of new hires.
- Research and evaluate new technologies and approaches, identifying solutions applicable to current or future projects.
- Participate in team hiring, including preparing requirements, reviewing resumes, developing test tasks (optional), conducting interviews, and providing candidate feedback.
- Allocate and coordinate QA resources across multiple projects.
- Communicate effectively with managers at both project and business levels.
- Build, maintain, and improve quality standards, enforcing technical and testing standards across the team.
- Ensure timely performance of assigned tasks.
- Perform high-level task decomposition to facilitate project execution.
- Create and maintain test documentation, including checklists and test cases.
SKILLS & EXPERIENCE:
Education:
- Master’s degree in Computer Science, Math, Statistics, Business Development, Product Management, or a related field.
Work Experience:
- 1+ years in a quality assurance role within a fast-paced, evolving business environment.
Technical Skills / Tools:
- PC and software tools: MS Office, Jira/Redmine/TFS, JMeter, Postman, SOAP UI, VMware/VirtualBox, RabbitMQ, Apache Kafka (ESB), Confluence, TestRail, Adobe XD, Photoshop, Git, Selenium IDE, BrowserStack, DevTools, PyCharm, etc.
Hard skills:
- Strong knowledge of software QA methodologies, tools, and processes
- Understanding of SDLC in Agile/Scrum
- Solid understanding of test design techniques
- Familiarity with web technologies: HTML, CSS, client-server architecture, API, JavaScript
- Knowledge of microservices architecture
- Strong technical background and QA leadership
- Software testing, including automation testing (Selenium IDE, Python, Java, JavaScript)
- Test management skills and team management
Soft Skills:

- Ability to communicate clearly and simply, effectively articulating ideas to both technical and non-technical audiences
