As our Senior Risk & Payment Officer, you’ll play a key leadership role in managing chargebacks, detecting fraud, and improving processes that directly protect our customers and strengthen our bottom line. What You’ll Do
In this senior role, you’ll oversee the end-to-end chargeback process and spearhead strategies to prevent and mitigate fraud. Your responsibilities will include:
- Leadership & Strategy: Act as the escalation point for complex cases, mentor junior team members, and drive the evolution of chargeback and fraud prevention processes.
- Fraud Detection & Prevention: Monitor and analyse payments to identify patterns of fraud, such as identity theft or account takeovers, and implement proactive solutions.
- Process Improvement: Evaluate current procedures to identify inefficiencies, recommend enhancements, and ensure compliance with the latest regulatory and card scheme standards.
- Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work closely with Billing, IT, and Business Development teams to improve fraud detection capabilities and enhance response times.
- Data-Driven Insights: Prepare and present detailed reports on performance metrics, trends, and root causes to inform senior management and guide decision-making.
This is a hands-on, highly collaborative role where you’ll blend operational expertise with strategic vision to lead by example.

- Proven Expertise: 3+ years of experience in chargeback management, fraud detection, and payment processing within a PSP, EMI, or financial institution.
- Deep Knowledge: A thorough understanding of card schemes, fraud rules, payment processing trends, and fraud detection typologies.
- Analytical Skills: Advanced Excel skills and the ability to analyse data for actionable insights.
- Leadership Mindset: A team-first attitude with the confidence to lead, mentor, and collaborate across all levels of the organisation, including C-suite.
- Resilience & Agility: You work well under pressure, embrace ambiguity, and are driven by a commitment to deliver results at pace.
